FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND LYING

I believe that citizens should be given a wide latitude to exercise their freedom of speech. But when freedom of speech is used mendaciously; that is, to lie, perhaps that latitude needs to be markedly decreased. Because when certain lies are dispensed people can be tangibly injured, materially or psychologically. I think this is true when elected officials present economic or geo-political situations in a false light. Thousands of people can go bankrupt, lose their businesses or portfolios when they are given false information about the economy or die in battle when misinformed when they are fighting a war based on false information. In our country, there is a tendency for government to look the other way when large financial institutions fraudulently deceive their customers and the public. Big fines sometimes, though, but no criminal prosecution. Similarly, how many wars have been fought with the public intentionally misdirected as the real cause or present reality of a war? How more serious can you get than a lie that take a person’s life to satisfy some self-interested political or military agenda? Yet, these gigantic lies generally go unpunished.

But now we have talked about lying, let us talk about people or institutions that are basically only interested in telling the truth. What do we call the intentional suppression of those person’s or institution’s point of view in order to protect a lie? Generally, we say censorship. But there are forms of censorship that seem to me absolutely morally acceptable- like keeping people from inciting violence for their own pleasure, keeping companies from advertising fraudulently about the safety of their product, keeping people from libeling innocent people for personal reasons. But is that the same kind of censorship as inhibiting freedom to speak for the sake of upholding a lie?

I am sort of a fan of Kim Iversen- as I think her heart is in the right place- but I often think she does not go quite far enough when looking at the massive changes happening now- and their potential cause. In this video, in part, she examines the rapacious censorship which is perhaps directly related for her refusal to accept the lockdown scenario. And, in my view, she is quite legitimately worried and, as usual, extremely articulate about the dangers of that situation- as she is also concerned about the excesses of speech by the Left on attacking those who supported Trump- and perhaps will wind up going against those on the Left, like herself, who do not support Biden policies.

I join with many of my colleagues in alternative media who do not care about the fight between the two parties and their various factions. I believe that their policies, controlled so effectively by the majorities in the parties’ Establishment , are basically corporate-run and initiated by a government too fused with the goal of the Central Banks and large corporations.

To defeat their interests, the people must step up to the plate and oppose their destructive economic and political objectives, which are crushing economic prosperity, real liberty and human rights and human health and safety around the world.

Ben Swann in Truth in Media is generally a bit more aligned with my point of view. Here he points out a kind of collusion between Google, Twitter and Facebook.

Recently, I had personal confirmation of this possible collusion. After having created a 30 minute video which was promoting my strong interest in empowering citizens in the United States and throughout the world, I found that my video, which was public, but never promoted anywhere had been taken down by YouTube for violating their “community guidelines” without any indication of why.

I then took the video elsewhere and created a different link. In writing another Twitter account, a Direct Message, I included this new link. When I checked it, immediately after posting it and before finishing my message, I found they allowed me to send this but posted a dire warning. It started out.

The link you are trying to access has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially spammy or unsafe, in accordance with Twitter’s URL Policy <https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/phishing-spam-and-malware-links>.

(Considering the matter of seconds when this video link was identified, I am hard-pressed but curious as to how this terrible link was identified as anything- and who were the partners who had collaborated, if any,, to make this happen. The warning continued:)

This link could fall into any of the below categories:
•malicious links that could steal personal information or harm electronic devices
•spammy links that mislead people or disrupt their experience
•violent or misleading content that could lead to real-world harm
•certain categories of content that, if posted directly on Twitter, are a violation of the Twitter Rules…

In this next video, Abby Martin and her attorney describe the scandalous censorship of a speaking engagement in Georgia that was due to her calling for a boycott of Israel. This kind of censorship at the behest of a foreign government is a callous, in-our-face reminder that the sovereignty of the United States and the protection of our rights as citizens has been challenged by many of our states.

In her case, before she was about to speak in Georgia Southern University, she was asked to sign a written pledge not to boycott Israel. Having a conscience and having spent years now studying the abuse of the Palestinian people and the imperialistic agenda of Israel’s government, she of couse refused.

This country never totally fulfilled the equality clause in the Constitution, but it came close enough to make major changes in American Politics and Culture it was tragically short-circuited in the Aftermath of 911. The American people must return to the ideal of an informed, activist, democratic community that controls the government and protects its rights.

MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, SOMEWHERE, `THERE’S A START OF SOME KIND OF SOLUTION…. WE NEED SOME WAY THAT MANY INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS CAN COME TOGETHER TO PROTECT OUR WORLD AND THE HUMAN RIGHTS TO WHCH WE ARE ENTITLED … A SOCIAL NETWORK THAT FAVORS WE THE PEOPLE- IN THE UNITED STATES AND PLANET EARTH AND SUPPORTS THE MASSIVE PUBLIC OUTCRY NEEDED TO CHANGE THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR LIBERTY AND PROSPERITY ON A NATIONAL AND GLOBAL SCALE. THOUGHTFUL AND STRATEGIC CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIONS ON A MASSIVE SCALE SHOULD NOT JUST BE A DISTANT MEMORY- BUT WE NEED THEM NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.
