June 5th, 2020 We live in a connected universe. Yes, we can compartmentalize areas of our life and our world- for the sake of focus and accomplishment. But we should not forget the Big Picture- especially now when there are so many challenges. We cannot and should not totally separate the amazing downturn of our economy, including the trillion dollar materializations of the central banks- from the quarantine and other socially-related restrictions imposed on us both privately and publicly- from the protests based on the explosive weakness of our justice system for minorities and the universally and globally-based protests against closing down our businesses (wages and jobs). As We Beg to Differ points out today, we need our military and police to come to the forefront in defending our citizen rights. AND THEY ARE!- at least some of them- and we continue to showcase them here. And we need MORE! MORE! MORE! This is not to say that the CRIMINALS AND LOOTERS who have disrupted the George Floyd protests do not need to be dealt with by the police and justice system- in a different but swift and efficient way.
Perhaps the most significant event of the week was Trumps’ threat to deploy the National Guard massively throughout the country. The significance was not so much the speech, which was not unusual for someone who postures himself as a “law and order” President, but rather the aftermath. ,,,
Immediately after Trump gave his speech about sending the U.S. military to deal with the riots, he gave orders to disperse a peaceful rally in Lafayette Park so that he could have a photo op with various top officials, including the Secretary of Defense, in front of a church that had sustained some damage from the riots.
This speech and his immediate action afterwards to sanction a militaristic attack on peaceful protesters before the legal curfew had started, did not go well for him. Top military officials, active and retired, reacted immediately.
One of the first was Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, who said in The Atlantic:
“Whatever Trump’s goal in conducting his visit, he laid bare his disdain for the rights of peaceful protest in this country, gave succor to the leaders of other countries who take comfort in our domestic strife, and risked further politicizing the men and women of our armed forces.”
There were other reactionS to the photo op. One other military official was James Miller, a former top Pentagon official, who resigned his post from the Defense Advisory Board. He was not happy with Mark Esper’s appearance at the photo op after what he believed was an unconstitutional attack against the protestors following Trump’s speech. Miller’s letter was posted in the Washington post. He said:
“When I joined the Board in early 2014, after leaving government service as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, I again swore an oath of office, one familiar to you, that includes the commitment to ‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States . . . and to bear true faith and allegiance to the same…,You recited that same oath on July 23, 2019, when you were sworn in as Secretary of Defense. On Monday, June 1, 2020, I believe that you violated that oath.”
Now, whereas I fully understand why Miller wrote that- and I am not capable of fully judging that situation as it appeared to Miller at that time- I am presenting here a video with Esper’s response to the negativity he received from various sources about the photo op. Regardless of his alleged culpability in willfully appearing there, he did give an explanation in the foregoing video, But not only that, HE DID AN AMAZING THING! HE STOOD UP FOR OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS regarding the deliberate Constitutional downsizing of the role of the military when it comes to U.S. citizens- a subject of critical importance to our freedom, a freedom now already critically curtailed by various Covid-19 protocols.
There were other immediate reactions to the President’s intended militaristic policy. One of them came from James Mattis, President Trump’s first Secretary of Defense, who resigned owing to his dissatisfaction with Trump’s Syria policy. Here is a Fox video discussing, in part, from Mattis’ writings in “The Atlantic.”
Trump did not respond quietly to Mattis’ criticism of Trump’s actions in having the protestors removed from Lafayette Park. It was an extremely insulting retort but did not directly deal with Mattis’ concerns.
In the following video, retired Marine General John Allen expressed more than grave concerns about Trump’s threat to use the military across our civilian population, referring to it as bringing possibly “the end of the American experiment.” It is pretty strong stuff when our military speaks out against their Commander-in-Chief to obey their Oath of Office protect us from unconstitutional presidential actions.
The Morning Joe Show also had comments about the military response to Trump.
The Next American Vagabond continues its discussion of the broader picture of the militarization of the police and the possible intrusion of official martial law entering into the myth. For those of you are skeptical of Trump’s possible designs, take a look at where everything is here now and what happened to our civil liberties and our economic freedom. Poof! Vanished! But although Hong Kong is a real humanitarian concern, Trump seems to more vigor into his defense of its democratic rights than he does for those of American citizens.
A lot of what is happening in the Covid-19 area seems to me based on misinformation. Here is a health expert, Dr. Pamela Potter’s take on the current state of this massive deception.
Tony Robbins has started to take a position in leadership in the Covid-19 debate and now has used his notoriety to create an podcast with many of our great contemporary civil rights leaders.
Looks like we just had a new jobs bonanza! Gregory Mannarino promises he will keep us on the right side of this continuing charade. He asks us- is it real? Or is just more fake garbage?
One of the functions of New Galaxy Enterprises is to offer various kinds of freelance writing services. One of my favorite forms of writing are screenplays. Here’s a short video describing our ability to adapt your novel to screenplay form.
Thinks seem impossible now. Still, as we have indicated in today’s issue, there is some hope, owing to some very special police and military officials. What we would like to see is the Constitution and Declaration go viral in the minds and hearts of my American colleagues.
NO!!!! MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, SOMEWHERE,
THERE’S A START OF SOME KIND OF SOLUTION….
